Sheri+JD: Wedding Photography in Poipu, Kauai by Paul Myers Pictures

On July 29th Paul Myers Pictures photographed Sheri and JD Morrissette’s wedding at Shipwreck Beach in Poipu, Kauai.

They shared the day with their children. As their families came together.
With three children each, the family really came to life! During the preparations for the wedding, the family started to form into one as they all helped out to make it a great event. They laughed together, which is always a treat for me as the wedding photographer because people relax and open up to this moment in their lives.

The ceremony officiant was Koko of Makamae weddings. He really brings a beautiful touch to the ceremony, personalizing the experience for the couple being married.

As the wedding photographer, I love these Kauai Beach weddings. There is so much raw energy with the raging surf and blowing wind that the sense of importance of the ceremony really comes into focus. With the blowing of the conch shells, the ceremony was ended and we had a blast with the family portraits. From there we went to the Luau.

There was an approaching storm that afternoon, big advisories for travel, and just as it came in Sheri and JD and I ran over make some beautiful images with rainbows on the coast. Then back to the Aulii Luau at The Sheraton Poipu for great food, amazing music and thrilling dancing by the performers. The couple even made it to the stage for their first dance as a married couple. What a beautiful event to be a part of with a beautiful family!
